This privacy policy explains how TalkCam handles user information.
1. Local-first recording data
TalkCam keeps your creative data on the device, including:
- Language, appearance, and recording preferences
- Projects, camera video (front or back), and microphone audio
- Teleprompter scripts
- Sticker (text and image), beauty, logo, watermark, and crop settings
TalkCam requires no account. Recording, editing, and the final export render all happen on-device and work offline. Exported videos are saved to your own Photos library.
2. No tracking, no ads
TalkCam contains no ad SDKs, no third-party analytics trackers, and no cross-app tracking. It does not sell or share personal data with third parties.
3. StoreKit and purchases
- TalkCam uses Apple StoreKit for optional in-app purchases: a monthly or annual auto-renewing subscription, or a one-time lifetime purchase.
- Billing, refunds, cancellations, and purchase history are handled by Apple.
- TalkCam stores a local entitlement cache on-device to show membership status quickly and restore access after relaunch.
- TalkCam reads only the entitlement status needed to unlock Pro. It cannot access your Apple ID password, payment methods, or your full Apple transaction history.
4. Device permissions
TalkCam uses the following device permissions, each for a clear on-device purpose:
- Camera — to capture the front or back camera while recording. Camera frames are processed and recorded locally; they are not uploaded or transmitted.
- Microphone — to record audio alongside the video. Audio is captured and encoded on-device.
- Photos (add-only) — to save the finished MP4 to your Photos library. TalkCam only writes files; it does not read or browse your existing photos.
TalkCam does not request location, contacts, health, Bluetooth, full Photos access, or background tracking permissions.
5. Data deletion
You can delete the TalkCam app from your device to remove its local data. Apple platforms may retain purchase records for your Apple ID so purchases can be restored.
6. Children's privacy
TalkCam is a general-purpose creator tool and is not directed at children. The app requires no account, collects no personal information from anyone (including children), and contains no chat, public posting, user-generated content sharing, ads, or tracking.
