SpeedPlayer is a practice-first media player built for users who want to study their own video and audio footage with precise speed control instead of managing a giant media library.
Core direction
- Load video or audio from Photos, Files, a direct media link, or open from other apps
- Dual playback modes: continuous mode (0.25x–4.00x, audio preserved) and precision review mode (0.01x–0.24x, ultra-slow, audio muted)
- Keep A-B loop, mirror, viewport, and playback memory per video
- Audio-only files show a dedicated vinyl record visualizer with rotation speed matching playback rate
Stage 1 product boundary
- SpeedPlayer is not a NAS browser, export studio, or AI coach in Stage 1
- SpeedPlayer is not a general web browser and does not provide a public content feed or searchable catalog
- The product focuses on importing quickly, resuming quickly, and refining one clip repeatedly
- Local files and playback state stay on-device by default
Supported media
Video formats
SpeedPlayer supports the following video formats: MP4, MOV, MKV, M4V, and HLS streams.
Audio formats
SpeedPlayer also supports audio-only files: MP3, AAC, M4A, FLAC, WAV, and AIFF. Audio files are automatically detected and played with a dedicated audio visualizer.
Format validation
SpeedPlayer uses the system media framework to validate files. If a file is not in a compatible format, SpeedPlayer will not import it.
