This Privacy Policy explains how PopJoy handles user information.
1. Local-first gameplay data
PopJoy stores gameplay and preference data locally on your device, including:
- Onboarding completion
- Level progress, completed levels, best stars, and total pops
- Coins and prop inventory
- Selected theme and per-mechanic theme overrides
- Board customizer preferences (shape, density, timed length)
- Sound, ambient bed, haptic density, reduced motion, one-handed mode, language, and appearance settings
PopJoy does not require an account for the core gameplay experience.
2. No tracking or advertising
PopJoy does not include advertising SDKs, third-party analytics trackers, or cross-app tracking. PopJoy does not sell user data.
3. StoreKit and subscriptions
- PopJoy offers optional auto-renewable subscriptions (a monthly plan with a 1-week free trial, and a yearly plan) that unlock PopJoy Pro (premium themes and unlimited Endless mode). There is no one-time purchase option.
- Billing, refunds, cancellation, renewal, and purchase history are handled by Apple through StoreKit.
- PopJoy reads only the subscription entitlement status needed to unlock Pro features.
- PopJoy does not have access to your Apple ID password, payment method, or full Apple transaction history.
- You can view, manage, or cancel your subscription at any time in your device's App Store account settings.
4. Device permissions
The current PopJoy app does not require location, camera, microphone, contacts, photo library, health, or Bluetooth permissions. PopJoy uses only the device speaker for game and ambient audio and Core Haptics for tactile feedback.
5. Data deletion
You can remove local PopJoy data by deleting the app from your device. Apple platform behavior may retain purchase records for your Apple ID so purchases can be restored.
6. Children's privacy
PopJoy does not include account registration, chat, user-generated content, advertising, or tracking. Parents can use Apple Screen Time, purchase restrictions, and App Store family controls to manage access and purchases.
