Pop Joy

Last Updated: 2026-06-25

Pop Joy is a casual, tactile bubble-popping game built for short, calming play sessions. This page explains how the app relates to children and families, and what it does and does not include.

Age guidance

Pop Joy is intended for general audiences and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13.

  • Teens (13+) and adults can play on their own as a quick stress-relief or focus-break activity
  • Younger users may enjoy Pop Joy together with a parent or guardian, who can decide whether and how long it suits them

Pop Joy does not verify age and does not create accounts, so a parent or guardian is responsible for deciding whether the app suits a younger user.

Recommended use in a family setting

  • Pop Joy is a single-player, offline-friendly toy — there is no competitive mode, chat, or social pressure
  • It works well as a brief, screen-based sensory break (a few rounds at a time) rather than long sessions
  • For younger children, a parent can sit alongside and treat popping as a shared, time-boxed activity

What Pop Joy does not include

Pop Joy is designed to stay simple and ad-free by default:

  • No ads and no third-party advertising trackers
  • No account creation required to play
  • No public social feed, comments, leaderboards, or chat
  • No in-app web browser for general browsing
  • No user-generated content, photo upload, or sharing features

Where data lives

  • Local-first: Game progress, settings, and best scores are stored on your device
  • No server sync: Pop Joy does not run its own backend and does not upload your gameplay data to us
  • Purchases: Optional subscriptions are processed by Apple through StoreKit and are tied to your Apple ID, not to an in-app account
  • Deletion: Uninstalling the app removes its local data

Does Pop Joy include parental controls?

No. Pop Joy does not include a parental controls feature, a parent gate, or screen-time management. If you want to limit a child's device use or purchases, please use Apple's built-in Screen Time and purchase restrictions at the system level, which apply to the whole device regardless of which apps are installed.

Purchases (such as Pop Joy subscriptions) are made through Apple's App Store and are subject to your Apple ID's purchase settings, including any restrictions you set there.

Network behavior

  • Popping bubbles, switching themes, and reviewing best scores all work locally on the device
  • Network access happens only when StoreKit talks to Apple's servers for purchases, or when you choose to open an external link (such as Support or Privacy Policy)
