This Privacy Policy explains how FractionSolver handles user information.
1. Local-first calculation data
FractionSolver stores preferences and solution history locally on your device, including:
- Language, appearance, and solution-style preferences
- Teaching-hint visibility
- Recent solved problems (expression, steps, and answer)
Solution history is available with Premium. FractionSolver does not require an account. All fraction calculation is performed on-device and works fully offline.
2. No tracking or advertising
FractionSolver does not include advertising SDKs, third-party analytics trackers, or cross-app tracking. FractionSolver does not sell user data.
3. StoreKit and purchases
- FractionSolver uses Apple StoreKit for optional Premium purchases: a Monthly or Yearly auto-renewable subscription, or a one-time Lifetime purchase
- Billing, refunds, cancellation, and purchase history are handled by Apple
- FractionSolver reads entitlement status needed to unlock Premium features
- FractionSolver does not have access to your Apple ID password, payment method, or full Apple transaction history
4. Device permissions
FractionSolver uses the following device permissions, each for a specific on-device purpose:
- Camera — used for equation scanning. Point the camera at a printed or handwritten fraction equation to recognize and solve it. Image recognition runs entirely on-device via Apple's Vision framework; the photo is processed locally and is not uploaded, stored, or transmitted.
- Photo Library (saving only) — used to save an exported solution image to your Photos library when you choose to export.
FractionSolver does not request location, microphone, contacts, full photo-library access, health, or Bluetooth permissions. Picking an image from the album uses Apple's PHPicker, which runs out-of-process and does not grant the app access to your photo library.
5. Data deletion
You can remove local FractionSolver data by deleting the app from your device. Apple platform behavior may retain purchase records for your Apple ID so purchases can be restored.
6. Children's privacy
FractionSolver is designed for students, parents, and teachers and does not include account registration, chat, user-generated content, advertising, or tracking. Parents can use Apple Screen Time, purchase restrictions, and App Store family controls to manage access and purchases.
