Recommended App Store position
MicroClaw should be positioned as a general education or developer-learning app, not as a Kids Category app.
Recommended minimum age
- The current product should target a 13+ audience in App Store distribution.
- This recommendation comes from product boundaries like local shell execution, embedded Python labs, external website links, and an optional remote model connector setup surface.
- The recommendation is not based on mature entertainment content.
Why not Kids Category
- Apple reserves child-focused metadata and the Kids Category for apps that are deliberately built around kid-specific review constraints.
- MicroClaw includes technical tooling, link-outs, and advanced settings that fit older learners better than a child-only product path.
School and parent review notes
- The core course path is local-first and does not require an account.
- The default experience is a bounded demo plus local runtime lab workflow.
- Optional remote connectors should only be enabled by an adult, school administrator, or advanced learner who understands the external service being configured.
Future downgrade path
If a future release removes remote connector setup from the student-facing build, reduces external links, and keeps the app strictly as a bounded offline lab, the team can re-evaluate whether a lower age rating is appropriate. Final rating should still follow the official App Store Connect questionnaire and, if needed, an override plus this page as the Age Suitability URL.
